Some people dream of getting married someday. Yes, it’s a good thing. Two heads are better than one, of course. But finding love is the best. When you find someone, you love and can live with the rest of your life, that’s a game-changer because you guys will be unstoppable. Yes, many things come with getting married, and yes, you would have to deal with each other's debt (if there’s any). Look at the bright side, if there’s money too, then you’ll enjoy it together; I hope nobody is stingy.

Marriage, to some people, means a bond that lasts forever. When you get married, you’ll be more open to sharing ideas to move the family forward. You become one.

As a saver or someone looking to reduce the cost of a wedding, you should look into flowers. Yes, they might not look like a big deal, but they sure cost a lot. Some flowers can cost hundreds, while others, thousands. Yes, you deserve the best, but you don’t want to struggle as a young couple because of a wedding expense. You want to make sure there’s a little money left so that you guys can enjoy it. I mean, you guys can plan a trip with it, if you like.

Flowers are essential in the decoration of your wedding; they make everything look bright and gorgeous. To my knowledge, you’ll be holding one that day. And yes, it should be the best in the market.

When I say, “Save money on your wedding flowers,” I don’t mean you should go and buy cheap looking flowers. Finding the best place to buy and negotiate a good deal can surely save you thousands. According to the knot, the average amount spent on flowers for a wedding is $2,000.

Below are ways you can save money on wedding flowers.

1. Talk to your Florist

Guess who can give you a deal? A florist. When you meet a florist, make sure to let them know how much you are willing to spend. If they insist that they can’t give you a figure, just let that out. With your budget disclosed, they will be able to know what would work for you. But if you let them do everything without you having an amount you are willing to spend, then the flowers will surely cost more.

Your florist knows that you are already spending on other things. They know that flowers are essential at weddings, so make sure you explain what you are willing to pay so that they can work with you.

2. Look for deals

There are event planning companies that either owns a florist business or have connections with someone that does. Sometimes, when you work with them, they’ll be willing to give you a massive deal on your flowers just because you work with them.

Working with these companies can be very beneficial and can help save you a lot of money.

You can also look online so that you can find local florists. Always compare prices with them.

3. Buy flowers in bulk

There’s no doubt buying in bulk will surely save you money. There are places online or offline where you can buy in bulk. They’re well priced to save you money. They know that you will surely refer your friends to buy from them if you find it affordable.

4. Stick to in-season flowers

In-season flowers are cheaper. You can shop locally to find these flowers. Because it’s easier to find these flowers, they tend to be affordable, so make sure you drive around or contact a florist that has them ready to go.

5. Don’t buy extras

Yes, it’s your day, and you want everything to look expensive and glossy. But doing that can eat deep in your pocket. Make sure you skip the extra stuff. Work with your florist to calculate precisely the flowers needed to make the venue look great. You can take off the list, the flowers on the floor, and those hiding in places no one will see.

6. Use Discount flowers

Boring! I know. But this can save you money. Sometimes florists may not be able to sell the flowers they have in stock, so they usually discount them. Sometimes these florists might give them away.

Make sure you connect with your local florist so that you can know when they are giving discounts.

7. Fix Wedding day on a holiday

Not only will people be off work, which means there will be a lot of people available to help in decorating. But you can even take advantage of the holidays. For example, during the Christmas season, places like churches and halls are usually decorated.

If you are frugal and want to save a bunch more money, you can even talk to a couple who have already bought and decorated their venue so that after their wedding, you can rent everything from them.
