You already have a car payment; why not save money on tires. Due to the miles you put on your car, you might have to buy tires soon. Most tire sellers indeed give warranty on the tires, and you can replace them at next to no cost. This warranty lasts for a particular time, and you would have to pay for the tires when the contract expires.

For many years, people have had to buy the tires out of pocket because, even if they claim their tire warranty, they would have to prove they took care of their tires. Many give up on this process and just buy new tires. However, some people successfully claim their tire warranties.

As a car owner, your tires should last long. Even though a company gives you new tires, you still might have to pay for changing the tires (Labor cost). However, some companies might change the tires for free, which can happen if you bought the car brand new. Unknown to you, the warranty you get has already been paid by you when you purchased the car. They do this to assure you that you are in good hands, and you are buying something that is guaranteed to last long.

You should expect your tires to last long. If you think you can keep going back to get new tires once every year, then think again. If you go back, they might tell you to fix it yourself, that the damage doesn’t fall under their warranty. You have to keep an eye on those tires; you don’t want any sort of expenses.

Another reason is for your safety. You need to take care of your tires, so it doesn't blowout, thereby causing an accident.

How to take care of your tires:

  • Check tire pressure monthly.

Tires can lose approximately one pound per square inch of air every month. Ensure you don’t rely on your mechanic to check your tire pressure because this can cause accidents. When you always want your mechanic to check the tire pressure, you might forget or not have the time to visit. There are cheap gauges you can use to check your tire pressure. Please don’t put your life in danger.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, under-inflated tires are the leading cause of tire-related accidents. When you don’t inflate your tires properly, there will be poor vehicle handling and decreased gas mileage.

  • Don’t overload the vehicle.

When you are driving in an overloaded vehicle, not only are you putting pressure on the tire, you are also putting your life in danger. At this point, the tires can even blowout.

When a car is overloaded, you will find it challenging to steer the wheels, which means you are damaging the tires.

There are fantastic ways you can save money on tires:

1. Shop for deals

Did you know you can buy tires online? Yes, there are sites like Gottires and Tirecrazy, where you can buy tires on bargains. These tires are brand new, and you can bet they are original.

The difference between buying online and instore is that online; there are always deals. In stores, you can get discounts, but you have to drive around to find better deals. When you shop online, you can do your research and find deals that will ship directly to you.

2.. Always buy brand new

Most times, when you buy brand-new tires, there is a warranty that comes with it. But if you buy a used tire, you would have to hope it’s the best. I know tires are costly, and you might be on a budget, but do you want to buy something that won't last long or something guaranteed to last long? Old tires are tires that are neglected or poorly handled. These owners didn’t believe it could serve them any longer. Indeed, you should use them as spare tires.

3. Get tire insurance

Having to purchase expensive tires because your old tires were slashed or stolen shouldn’t be what you have to do. With collision and comprehensive tire insurance, they’ll have your back when this happens. Yes, having this insurance can be an extra bill, but other benefits come with this, such as roadside assistance, no limit on the number of occurrences.

4. Look for coupons.

Sometimes tire manufacturers would give coupons or massive discounts on their websites. Ensure you visit Michelin.com, Goodyear.com, and others to make sure that you don’t miss out. Sometimes, the deal they give is better than the deals from retailers like Sam’s club.
